morning of the earth.

Quick procrastination scribble from my little rejected library book.
I've been watching a lot of dad's surfing dvds lately. They're so good to put on in the background, just waves and music (and nice looking boys). Excellent combination.
I think when I go back to the island during the easter break I'll try drawing some proper surf scenes.
Maybe.

I found this excellent list on the beautiful  page of cella & wolves. Follow the link for pretty artwork.

hello lady ladybug.

I found a ladybug in my room one day. She had claimed my bedroom and was showing no interest in leaving. I sat her on the windowsill where she stayed for most of the afternoon, before she eventually went on her way.
I'm currently turning the third image into a painting for an assignment. If I don't hate it too much when it's finished I'll share it with you :)

ink and lead.

Cecilia and I ventured out to ink and lead's life drawing session at Gertrude's Brown Couch.
The evening was really relaxed and Cilly and I met some interesting and talented people.  I'm fairly rusty, but it was excellent practice.

A couple of years ago a teacher gave my class some old books for us to re-cover with our own design. Our teacher had rescued the books from the library bin. They were perfectly fine, the library was just sick of them.
I never ended up designing a cover for the one I grabbed, I've been drawing in it instead.
Moral: dig through library bins.
